Honey Crisp apples are my favorite.  They are only in season for a short time.  They are not only delicious to eat, they are also beautiful.  God took the most beautiful red and the most beautiful green and combined these complimentary colors in one perfect fruit.

The crispy, juicy inside can not be seen in this painting.  but the beautiful colors invite me to take a bite.

To me to paint a still life is to have a relationship with that fruit or vegetable.  It is the color, the shape, the smell, the taste and on my canvas I only create with color and shape.  The smell and taste must be imagined.
